What you can expect

Data Protection Officer

Delivered by monthly subscription, Bader Quince can act as your Data Protection Officer (or DPO) and fulfil all the tasks typically expected of a DPO, or work as a support function for your existing DPO.

As your dedicated DPO, we will register ourselves as such with the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Offices, as well as acting as a conduit between you and your data subjects.

Services include:

AUDITS:

We will audit your existing data protection and information handling practices and provide a gap-analysis and proposed solutions.  We will then work with you to fill any gaps identified and support implementation of new processes or policies with pertinent in-house training and guidance.  We can also help with ongoing auditing to measure compliance and make recommendations for best practice where trends and risks are identified.

COMPLAINTS:

We can help you respond to complaints from data subjects, or the Information Commissioner’s Office.

DESIGN:

We firmly believe that “off the shelf” policies rarely do less harm than good for a business. We strongly believe that for policies and procedures to be effective they need to be pertinent and specific to the business.  We pride ourselves in our practice of getting to know how your business works so that we can help design policies and procedures that provide effective protection and compliance, without impeding growth and innovation.

RISK ASSESSMENT:

We will work with you to create effective risk identification and mitigation measures.  This may also include undertaking or reviewing Data Protection Risk Assessments or reviewing the lawfulness of data sharing and transfers.

DATA LEAD:

We can act as the data lead when your business is implementing new processes or software which impact how you process personal data and client confidential information.   This might include advising on contractual provisions for data sharing and undertaking any necessary risk assessments.

DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS:

We can help you to respond to any requests from data subjects, for example, those exercising their right to access (data subject access requests).  Our legal and data protection experience will be invaluable to ensuring that you respond to access requests completely and that any exemptions relied upon are lawful.

ADMINISTRATION:

We can help keep your Records of Processing up to date, as well as your breach registers and other policies and procedures that feed into your compliance practices.

TRAINING:

Training staff on induction and on an ongoing basis, thereafter, is crucial for any businesses looking to comply with its data protection obligations.  We can provide bespoke in-house or modular training to be delivered to staff as well as provide the main business with insights from our own horizon scanning and trend spotting.

BREACHES:

We can deal with data breaches and undertake the investigation and compliant resolution steps necessary.  We will then work with you to make sure that lessons are learned, and risk mitigation measures implemented to prevent similar instances occurring in the future.

Davina was excellent in her work for my firm. She completed the work quickly and incredibly accurately and really paid attention to the accuracy of our documentation across the firm, not just the documents she was specifically reviewing. Enthusiastically recommended!
